OUR BORDERS [within and without]:

THE AWE AND WONDER; BEHOLD, THE KING!

Be in awe! Be in wonder! Be amazed! Reflect on what we celebrate on December 25th. Consider the fulfillment of God’s Word, His prophetic utterances, as Heaven came to earth in a real and tangible way – through the birth of a baby. Not just any child was this, but this child was God With Us – Immanuel. Named Jesus, the Anointed One. This birth was an act of war and peace; a sovereign act to defeat the sting of death through His own death and through His resurrection, bringing peace and reconciliation of mankind back to Himself. Praise God!

This first Advent of Christ fulfilled the first promise by God to send a Savior through the Seed of the woman proclaimed in Genesis 3:15. This Seed, who would crush the head of the serpent, is the first mention of the Gospel we proclaim today.

The prophets of old and angels longed with anticipation to see the day when God became flesh. He did not come randomly, but at the appointed time, just as it was written of Him, fulfilling over 300 prophecies from the Old Testament. Some scholars have found as many as 574 verses in the Old Testament that point to this first coming of the Messiah. Most assuredly, since that day when deception and disobedience brought in death, the war between darkness and light has been waged, and in the middle of them all, the scarlet thread, this Seed of the woman, is interwoven into the tapestry of our history, our present, and will culminate in the second advent of Christ!

His Divine Majesty, the radiance of the glory of God, the exact imprint of God’s nature, God’s essence, who sustains and upholds all things, came through the birth of a virgin Mary, descendant of King David, as it was prophesied. Jesus, the Seed promised in Genesis 3:16. Jesus, the Word of God made flesh, the Light of the world. Jesus, a profound mystery revealed to us in human form. Jesus, who came to save us through war with the enemy – the powers and principalities of the world against Him, brought peace and reconciliation to us back to Himself, to the Father – to Elohim [God and His Majestic Plurality].

Who is like unto Him? None, I say! Was there any other way to redeem us? None, I proclaim. All humanity, all of us, were utterly lost in the darkness and appointed to wrath. Those before this advent looked forward to it by faith. Today, we look back on it and also look forward to His Second Advent by faith.

Think of what it was like to be a young virgin and told by an angel that Yahweh God favored her to carry the Seed of Promise. And she, by faith, in wonder of it all, said humbly, “I am the LORD’s servant. Let it be according to your word.” She did not hesitate to accept this gift of the Seed to be born in her womb.

He is no longer in a lowly manger!
He is no longer in a lowly manger!

Picture the shepherds in the field when the angelic hosts appeared in praise and overwhelming wonder, announcing to them that the promised Redeemer was born. Imagine their awe and amazement, their fear and trembling before this vast angelic host celebrating and saying, “Glory to God the Most High, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!” They hurried, we are told, to see for themselves this Baby lying in a lowly manger. After seeing, they returned, giving praise and glory to God.

This Mysterion was pronounced long ago, not only regarding His first advent, but also giving us our ‘Blessed Hope’ – His second advent and return to earth to make all things new.

For it has been written; therefore, it shall be:

God said to the serpent, “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed. He will crush your head, and you will strike His heel. (Genesis 3:15)

Behold, the virgin will be with child and give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel [God with us] (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23)

For in the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with GOD and WORD WAS GOD! He was with God in the beginning. Through Him were all things made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. (John 1:1)

And the WORD became flesh and dwelt among us. We [John and the witnesses] have seen His glory, the Glory of the One and Only Son from the Father, full of Grace and Truth. (John 1:14)

For the law was given through Moses; Grace and Truth came through Jesus, the Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the One and the Only begotten God, the One being in the bosom of the Father, He has made Him known. (John 1:17-18)

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. And the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from that time and forevermore. And the zeal of Yahweh of Hosts will accomplish this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)

He is no longer hanging on the cross!
He is no longer on the cross!

John [the Baptizer] saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

Of this salvation, the prophets inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ, who was in them, was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. To whom it was revealed that they were serving not themselves, but you, in those things which now have been proclaimed to you by those who have proclaimed the Gospel to you by the Holy Spirit, having been send from heaven, into which angels desire to look into. (1 Peter 1:10-12)

But in this way God has fulfilled what He foretold through all the prophets, saying that His Christ [Anointed One] would suffer. (Acts 3:18)

Jesus said, “Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and hear what you hear but did not hear it. (Matthew 13:16-17)

He is no longer in the tomb!
He is no longer in the tomb!

Jesus said, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6) “Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.” (John 14:9)

I heard a sound like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting, “Hallel-YAH! (Praise Yah!) Salvation and glory and power belong to our God! His judgments are just and true. He has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the blood of His servants that was poured out by her hand.” (Revelation 19:1-2)

“Hallel-YAH! (Praise YAH!) For the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him the glory. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. She was given clothing of fine linen, bright and pure.” For the fine linen she wears is the righteous acts of the saints. Then the angel told me [John] to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper with the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the True Words of God.”

So, I fell at his feet to worship him. But he told me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who holding to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.” (Revelation 19:6-10)

The Door of heaven is opening...
The Door of Heaven Opening Soon!

Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness, He judges and wages war. He has eyes blazing like fire, and many royal diadems on His head. He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is THE WORD OF GOD. The armies of heaven, dressed in fine linen, white and pure, follow Him on white horses. And from His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.

He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh, KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:11-16)

Now to the King Eternal, Immortal, and Invisible, the only God, be Honor and Glory forever and ever. Amen. (1 Timothy 1:17)

Now that, my friends, is the Christmas miracle – an accurate historical account that has been written of what was, is, and is to come. The Mysterion that has been revealed to us who believe, to us with eyes to see, to us with ears to hear, to us His Church, which is the Body of Christ Jesus. May we celebrate Him and praise Him who has saved us. For even now, though we have various trials and tribulations, rejoice! For nothing we suffer here compares to that which awaits us in glory! Rejoice, I say; and again, I say, Rejoice! That day is coming quickly. Are you ready to stand firm in Him and in the power of His might? Oh, I pray that you be ready. Behold, the KING. Maranatha, Even so come, Lord Jesus, come. Amen.
