Recognizing A Counterfeit: The word ‘Counterfeit’ typically takes our minds immediately to ‘Counterfeit Money’. Yet there are many items and even persons that are counterfeited. They are knock offs of the REAL DEAL. Did you know that there are many today preaching and teaching a ‘counterfeit’ Jesus, a ‘counterfeit’ Gospel message?
We are told in 2 Corinthians 13:5 to examine ourselves to see if we are indeed in the faith; proving or testing ourselves. This examination is so that our faith is not in vain; that our faith is founded on the REAL DEAL – the Biblical Jesus and Gospel. This brings to my mind what the Psalmist wrote in Psalms 139:23, “Search me, oh God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts.” This self-examination of our hearts and minds and laying them before God can shine light on areas that, well, frankly, don’t line up with what we are professing. This examination will test us to see if we know the real Jesus in whom we profess to have a personal relationship with.
Keep in mind, the only way to detect a ‘counterfeit’ of anything is to know the real deal so intimately that when we see or hear something minutely off, we will recognize it as a counterfeit. Paul, by the inspiration of God’s Holy Spirit, wrote:
2 Corinthians 11:3-4 I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if indeed one comes preaching another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit that we have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you may tolerate [or put up with] it.
2 Corinthians 11:14-15 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. Therefore, it is no surprise if his ministers also be masquerading as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.
Today, recognizing and knowing the real Jesus and Gospel is more and more important as false prophets and teachers within Christian churches of all denominations, have risen up. They are incorporating man’s science and wisdom into their teaching and have
been conformed to the world rather than standing on the Truth and sure foundations from Genesis to Revelation. For this reason, too many are believing in a counterfeit Jesus, a counterfeit or partial Gospel. Gospel simply means good news. The Biblical Jesus was, is and always will be God, who fulfilled the law of God perfectly that we can’t. He lived a sinless life and then laid His life down to take upon Himself our sin and the punishment we deserved that we in ourselves can’t earn. The good news doesn’t end with His death, burial and resurrection. He promised He would come again. He has told us how His finished work and sacrifice that crushed the head of the serpent in Genesis, will be realized in its fulness at the end of the age in Revelation. He is coming back as He promised; and we are witnessing His words being fulfilled right before our eyes today. Do you know the Real Jesus? The scariest words Jesus said to us and why we examine ourselves is found in Matthew 7:22-23:
“Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? And in Thy name have cast out devils? And in Thy name done may wonderful works?’ And Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of iniquity’.”
This age of deception full of ‘counterfeits’ will only get worse. Therefore, we, who are Christians, should be able to stand for the truth and know what we believe and why we believe it. Let us ask God for wisdom and discernment with what we hear, read and listen to. More than ever, Christians need to be in the Word of God, studying it – it is our weapon, the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, that infuses us with the ability to discern with His Spirit the real Jesus and Gospel from the counterfeit.
According to a recent study of the worldview of U. S. adults conducted at the Cultural Research Center, fewer professing born-again Christians believe that Jesus lived a sinless life. But we know that if Jesus was not sinless, His work at the cross would have been in vain and our faith in it also would be in vain. Other studies show the degradation of professing Christian’s belief that Jesus is God and that Jesus is the Only Way To God. Yet Jesus Himself said, “Before Abraham was, I AM.” This reference to Him being God. And Jesus said, “I AM THE WAY,” not a way to eternal life. The Old Testament is full of appearances of Jesus in His pre-incarnate existence. Everything in the Old Testament speaks about Him and points to Him and the New Testament records His fulfillment of them as well as the culmination of what He did and will complete at the end of the age to come – the New Heavens and New Earth after His Millennial Reign here on earth. This is why we can say with confidence that Jesus is Messiah and Great God of Salvation.
Unfortunately, many ‘counterfeits’ can lead individuals to a false salvation experience by getting swept up in a moment of “emotionalism” and “feelings” at a service without being taught Who they are believing, counting the full costs or by not teaching the full counsel of God. Biblical Christianity is for the critical thinker. It is the powerful working of the Holy Spirit to conform us into God’s image, unto His righteousness, unto a higher standard, so we do not continue in our old ways nor are we conformed to this world any longer. True salvation is not an emotion or feeling, but will produce an experiential and evidential change in our daily living that will grow as we seek Him and learn of Him; as we yield ourselves to His Holy Spirit’s working in us.
This world is passing away. Yet too many are building their lives on and in this world; they are building faith on sand rather than on the firm foundation of the Biblical Jesus.
It saddens me when I hear well known pastors say that we can throw out the Old Testament and even most of the New based on modern science that seems to contradict scripture. This reveals their faith is more in what men deemed science to be, a ‘counterfeit’ science. But friends, God is THE God of science and Jesus in the beginning was the Word who was with God and was God [John 1:1]. Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to the purpose He created us for. Repent [which means to turn and change your mind from men and the world back to God] and believe [a complete trust and faith with confidence] on the REAL DEAL – the REAL JESUS CHRIST, WHO WAS, IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE ETERNAL GOD, CREATOR, GREAT GOD OF OUR SALVATION, THE BEGINNING AND THE END, THE ALMIGHTY!

COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT...
Controlling our food supply to fight climate change is another method of control. Yet, we know the World Economic Forum and the Globalist have made no bones about us, the people, being the problem needing to be controlled and fixed. The climate change propaganda is building off the success they achieved through the general populous’ compliance in the COVID rehearsal for what is to come. Once the whole world was united to fight against COVID and push an unreliable vaccine, that isn’t a vaccine, well what do you expect? When given an inch, they not only take a mile, they march forth at warp speed towards control, towards the final solution leading to the 7-year tribulation God told us about. Coincidence? I think NOT. These are just steps toward Satan’s final solution and we are seeing the foreshadowing of these years coming.
